The SFTE Foundation, our 501(c)(3) charity, has applied for inclusion in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). The CFC is a list of charities, managed by the government, that participate in an annual giving drive involving military members and federal employees.
Approval by the CFC allows payroll deductions by government employees to the tax-deductible SFTE Foundation. The government also publishes and disseminates a hard-copy booklet containing information about all of the charities to its employees. It is essentially free advertising. I’ve personally witnessed the generosity of military members many times over the years—what I don’t know (and maybe somebody can email me with an answer) is whether or not public and private, non-governmental organizations have a similar system in place for charitable giving.
Another way to contribute to the Foundation is to make your purchase through Amazon Smile. A hyperlink to our Smile store appears on our webpage. Shop at http://smile.amazon.com/ch/81-4777138 and Amazon donates to Society Of Flight Test Engineers Foundation. Amazon will also allow users to set the SFTE Foundation as a default in their Smile shopping preferences. Your web browser will show something like the screenshot below when you are shopping using Amazon Smile.
